Functional Diagnostic Medicine is a model of care focused on treating the underlying causes of a condition, rather than symptoms. Functional medicine practitioners recognize the interrelationship among body systems. It is a whole-body (holistic) treatment approach, utilizing specialized functional diagnostic testing to uncover the root cause of dysfunction. Treatment may include lifestyle and dietary changes, nutritional supplementation including but not limited to vitamins, minerals, and herbs. Visits are structured in the following manner:
Initial Visit: A one-hour comprehensive health history and review of current, past, and ongoing health problems/complaints. Dr. Natale will utilize information gained during the initial visit, prior test results (if any), and new patient intake forms to determine what further testing is necessary.
Second Visit: A one-hour visit, results of diagnostic testing will be reviewed and explained. A plan of care will be discussed, which may include dietary and lifestyle changes as well as supplement advice.
Follow-Up Visits: 30 minute visits, follow-ups are intended to update Dr. Natale on your progress, in which she will decide if any changes to the current treatment protocol are necessary. The need for re-testing will be discussed during follow-up visits. The exact number of follow-up visits necessary is not pre-determined and will vary depending on the patient.

Also referred to as the "roller table," this therapy table provides a massage-like treatment designed to traction open the joints of the spine - increasing mobility and softening the surrounding soft tissue.
Electric muscle stim provides a therapy similar to that of a TENS unit. It causes involuntary muscle contraction & relaxation, aiding in the relief of muscle tension and spasm.
Cupping therapy increases blood flow to the treatment area, stimulating healing & aiding the recovery process.
An adhesive tape applied to surrounding muscles of dysfunctional joints adds a sense of stability and pain-relief, without compromising joint use or mobility. One tape application lasts approximately five days.
In instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, a metal tool glides over the treatment area to break up fascial adhesions and scar tissue. It help to loosen and mobilize muscles that have become stiff & painful due to excess scar tissue.
